Dr. Sean Doenias
PT, DPT, CSCS
Dr. Sean Doenias earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut in 2022. Inspired by his military experience assisting soldiers with training-related injuries and preparing them for the Army Physical Fitness Test, he pursued advanced education in physical therapy. His goal was to develop effective strategies for rehabilitation and injury prevention. Dr. Sean’s passion for personal growth shines through his achievements. He is a US Army veteran, competitive powerlifter, and black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He loves working with athletes in barbell and combat sports. Recently, he embarked on an unforgettable honeymoon adventure, hiking to the summit of Mt. Meru in Tanzania. During his free time, Dr. Sean enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and their beloved cat, Tobi.
Prior to joining Barbell Physical Therapy, I became certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA and earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy. I am also an accomplished Competitive lifter/grappler, as well as am Army Veteran (SGT).

I want to help lifters and athletes learn to train around their pain and rehabilitate their injuries to get back to training hard at a high level.

I enjoy lifting, grappling, and cycling throughout the week. I try to get outdoors as frequently as possible hiking and camping with my wife and Cat Tobi.
